Tires may be the single most important part of your car. Sure, brakes are important, and the engine is important, but you'd be going nowhere fast without tires. So how do you keep them functionally optimally for longer?
Chevrolet expert Mark explains.
This quick advice only takes about 30 seconds to learn.
- Check your tire pressure once a month. Do this using a simple tire pressure gauge, and checking the pressure against the optimal recommended pressure listed on the inside of the driver's door. Refill or let out air as needed.
- Check your tread depth. You can use a tread depth gauge, or a penny. If Lincoln's head disappears into the tread, you're all set. If the top of his head is visible, you need new tires, and should talk to our parts department.
Hint: to ensure maximum stopping distance, use a quarter instead of a penny.
