CPO Qualifications
In order to become certified, a pre-owned vehicle
must meet certain qualifications. Most brands require that the vehicle be a
late-model car, and they usually have age and mileage limits. Mazda CPO
vehicles, for example, can be no more than six years old and must have less
than 80,000 miles on the odometer. Since most recent-model cars will last for
well over 100,000 miles, people in East Petersburg are certain to have a
vehicle they can enjoy driving for many years.
Certified Pre-Owned Cars Must Pass Vigorous
Inspections
But that's not the only restrictions that cars
must meet to become certified pre-owned. Most automakers require the vehicle to
pass in-depth inspections to make the grade. Hyundai CPO cars, for example,
must pass a 173-point inspection to earn certification. Inspection requirements
vary by brand, but generally all the most critical components are examined,
tested, and reconditioned, if necessary. Most every CPO program also stipulates
that the vehicle must have a clean vehicle history report to get certified.

records, and whether the vehicle had previously been in an accident.
