With the right amount of vision, resources and drive, mankind has managed to achieve some pretty amazing vehicular feats over the years. Remember back in August when we were telling you about the autonomous driving technologies being developed for industry? Once upon a time, news flashes like these were reserved for the annals of science-fiction.
And now that one inspired art collector has turned his Lexus IS 300h Hybrid into both an artist and a canvas, who knows what humanity will think of next?
Though we're still not sure what inspired such an idea, Walter Vanhaerent recently outfitted a large LCD display screen onto the dashboard of his vehicle before uploading it with some custom software that allows it to paint in the style of Sergio Abliac. And while that's all well and good, the beauty of the technology is how it actually works.
When Vanhaerent starts up his vehicle, the system turns on. As he starts to drive, a painting starts to form on the LCD display. As he speeds up, the brush strokes become more erratic, more abstract. As he slows down, they become clearer, more detailed.
When it comes to colors, that all depends on what drivetrain Vanhaerent is using. When he switches over to gas, the colors become warmer, louder, and brighter. When he switches over to electric, they becomes cooler and softer. Once he's reached his destination, Vanhaerent has a brand new virtual painting to admire at the end of each drive.
It's something to see, alright, although the chances of his system making its way to our lineup isn't all that likely. But if you'd like to learn more about the cutting edge technologies you can find in our used cars, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in at our dealership here in Petersburg, PA. It's the future today, folks.
