The development of a self-driving vehicle has been a goal of many tech different companies lately. Since it is quite the endeavor to research, several tech groups decided it was best to combined resources and team up on the project. An all-star team has assembled to take on the task and we can't wait to uncover the details.

Joining the team will be IBM, auto supplier Continental, and Google. Not a bad trio considering Google has already had some experience with developing some of the technology necessary to complete an automated driving system. In addition, Continental has dabbled in this area through the development of driver assist technology designed to make navigating traffic easier.

Specific details regarding the partnership are quite sparse at the moment, leaving many to wonder whether the companies plan to create an entirely new model, or build on some of the pre-existing developments. We should be receiving some confirmation on this from the upcoming Frankfurt Car Show which takes place in September. All of us here at LCM Used Car Center will be sure to keep you updated on the latest details right here on our blog.

In the meantime, feel free to visit our East Petersburg, PA showroom anytime during our normal business hours. We'd be happy to help you explore the used car lineup we have available. Whether you are in need of an affordable back to school vehicle, or an SUV that is reliable and will get you through the winter, we've got a great variety for you to choose from. Although we don't have any self-driving vehicles in stock, we have a feeling this could become a possibility at some point in the distant future!
