Although it may not feel like it yet, winter is gone and spring is finally here. From potholes to road ice and snow, winter weather does a number on our cars. Spring is the perfect time to make sure your vehicle is ready for the upcoming season.
Here are five tips to get your car running smoothly this spring:
- Wash your car from top to bottom. Be sure to remove leftover salt from the exterior and undercarriage. Salt can cause serious damage to your car, including rust.
- Check your wheels. Potholes can harm your cars alignment and suspension. If your car pulls to one side or the steering vibrates while driving, you might have a problem. Now is also a great time to check your tire pressure and tread.
- Check fluid levels. It may be time for an oil change, especially if your last oil change was sometime before winter. Spring is also an ideal time to flush your transmission fluid. Consult your owner's manual to check your transmission fluid flush interval.
- Inspect the brakes. Having fully functioning brakes is one of the most important things in safe driving. If you're hearing any squealing or grinding have one of our technicians check the pads and rotors to make sure there are no issues.
- Replace your wiper blades. Wiper blades are a very important factor in visibility while driving. They should be replaced every six months or when cracked, torn, cut, streaking, or chattering.
