There is no better way to draw in a large crowd than by auctioning off a collection of used cars, especially when they are vintage Chevrolet models. This is why thousands flocked to Nebraska last month to take part in such a spectacular event.
It wasn't just car collectors in attendance, but families and history fanatics as well. After all, who wouldn't want to check out the nation's most grand collection of vintage Chevrolets? All of us here at LCM Used Car Center would certainly have loved to check it out.
This collection has grown to such a large size thanks to a passionate man by the name of Ray Lambrecht, who spent 50 years working locally in Nebraska as a Chevrolet dealer. About 500 of his vehicles were sold at the auction, bringing in well over a million dollars.
What were some of the quickest sellers? One lucky customer drove away with a 1958 Chevrolet Cameo Pickup that had only 1.3 miles on it. This was due to the fact that it was kept inside for a majority of its existence. The vehicle was anticipated to bring in at least $100,000 but actually sold for $140,000. Another high seller was a 1958 Chevrolet Apache 31 Series truck which brought in $80,000 at the auction.
