Here at the LCM Used Car Center we love being able to offer the opportunity to take our customers out for a test drive. After all, there really is no better way to tell which of our used cars is a perfect match. However none of us can say we've ever experienced a test drive as crazy as the one we recently came across on the Jalopnik blog.
NASCAR superstar Jeff Gordon teamed up with Pepsi MAX, to give one particular salesman quite the scare. Gordon, dressed in a disguise complete with facial hair, makeup and spy camera glasses, walks onto a lot and shows particular interest in a black Camaro. Acting hesitant to take it for a test drive, Gordon is then easily convinced by the salesman that he should give it a try.
As he eases out of the parking lot, Gordon jerks the car forward making it look as though manual transmission is a new concept for him. He then whips the car around at a high speed and begins driving like a professional driver would, spinning donuts, doing hand break turns, and other maneuvers you definitely wouldn't see on your typical test drive. The salesman however, doesn't respond too kindly to the stunts.
When Gordon finally backs the car back into its space on the lot, the salesman flies out of the car threatening to call the cops. Once Gordon reveals his identity, the salesman quickly forgives him and asks if they can do it again. The strategically placed cameras craftily documented the video in a way that seemed authentic, however this is of course not a very likely scenario.
As entertaining as the stunt was, we definitely don't suggest pulling maneuvers like these unless you are a trained professional.
